WHAT IS COMMITMENT------WHAT ARE WE TO COMMIT--TO TRUST--TO GOD?
The Bible encourages us to commit our load, our concerns, our life to God by rolling it onto HIM. We know that we can roll our lives over to God.
What are we to commit?
OURSELVES, PSALMS 22:8
He trusts in the Lord; let the Lord rescue him. Let Him deliver him, since He delights in him.
The Lord delights in us when we live “HIS” word, when we actively support our mission grants for LWML, whether they are for RMD or for LWML, ST.LOUIS. Do you know what the grants are? Do you know how mite monies are allocated for the mission grants? Are you aware of the status of the grants and how important it is to complete our commitment for each biennium? All that information is available in the Rocky Mt. District LWML TIDINGS and the National LWML periodical, the QUARTERLY.
OUR BURDEN, PSALM 55:22
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Pray for our mission grants everyday, use LWML devotions for your meetings, use daily devotions to remind and encourage yourself and to turn your concern over to God.
OUR SOULS, 1PETER 4:19
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will, should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and to continue to all they can.
We know the good that comes from the support that is given to various mission grants. The Gospel is presented to some that have never heard the Word. Christian values and life styles are shared with youth through the grants that we support. The Word is given to Christians who are handicapped; education of pastors and support personnel is given to bring the Word to the unchurched.
OUR WAY, PSALMS 37:5
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him.
Commit your silver and gold, your prayers, your support to mission grants by the everyday use of your mite box. Continue to keep your congregation aware of what those MIGHTY MITES do, and how LWML depends on the commitment of LCMS to support various missions.
OUR CAUSE, 1PETER 2:23
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
We know what our cause is, we know what we have to do to continue to spread the word, we do not suffer from many threats, but know we must continue to give our hearts and commitment to the missions of LWML and of LCMS.
OUR WORKS, PROVERBS 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and plans will succeed.
Our commitment to spreading the Word is the foundation of our involvement with LWML and our LCMS churches. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, that commitment is kept alive in your heart and in what you do every day.
Dear Lord,
We pray that You would grant us the power and willingness to commit all we do, think and say to You. We ask Your blessings on our churches, our LWML societies, and our mission grant recipients that all may, by the power of the Holy Spirit, come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Please enable us to make and even surpass our mission goal for this biennium, and we thank You for all of the blessings You have bestowed on us.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
