PURPOSE OF A CHRISTIAN LIFE COMMITTEE:
The purpose of the Christian Life Committee is to encourage, equip and nurture believers so that they may become strong in the Lord, steadfast in the faith, and willing to serve the Lord according to the gifts He has given them.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHRISTIAN LIFE LEADERS:
To encourage and nurture women to grow into a more mature relationship with Jesus Christ;
To keep the Word of God as a focal point in all LWML meetings and activities;
To provide leadership and direction in organizing opportunities for Bible study, devotions and prayer;
To inform women of the Christian Life materials available to them through the LWML; and
To assist and involve others in the use and presentation of Christian Life materials.
LEADING BIBLE STUDIES:
As the Christian Life Leader you will be called upon to help keep God’s Word an important element of all planned LWML events. You may be responsible for securing a professional Christian speaker, a qualified Bible study teacher, or a godly devotional leader. You may be called upon to plan, organize and implement a published study or possibly even write a study yourself.
When you undertake this task, you do so knowing that it is God’s will and intention for His people to read and study His Word. You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me (John 5:39). How will we know Him if we do not study His Word?
Through encouraging Bible study you will have the opportunity to help others grow in their faith, grow in Christian service, and grow in their ability and willingness to witness of God’s amazing love. All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
